About The Coffee:
Grown at 2,160–2,190 meters above sea level near Gedeb, this coffee develops slowly in high-altitude conditions, concentrating sugars and building vibrant complexity. The region’s red-brown fertile clay soil, deep root systems (over 1.6 meters), abundant rainfall, and spring water nourishment create ideal growing conditions for heirloom Yirgacheffe varietals.
This lot is sourced from the Worka cooperative region in the Gedeb district of Yirgacheffe, an area deeply rooted in coffee tradition, where smallholder farmers bring ripe cherries to community processing stations that serve hundreds of growers. At these stations, cherries are collected and carefully sorted before being laid out to dry on raised beds, ensuring consistency and traceability as part of the local Co-op system.
Naturally processed (dry process) and harvested between December and the end of January, the cherries are sun-dried with the fruit intact, allowing sugars to fully infuse the seed. The result is a fruit-forward cup with rich sweetness and structured depth.
