About The Coffee:
Sourced from the lush highlands of Papua New Guinea’s Upper Waghi Valley, this washed single-origin coffee comes from the Kuta Farmer Group in the Nebilyer Valley. Grown at 1,600 meters above sea level, the coffee thrives under shade within designated conservation areas, resulting in a cup that’s vibrant, clean, and expressive.
This lot is a blend of classic varieties such as Bourbon, Typica, Caturra, Catimor, and Arushia. All carefully harvested by smallholder farmers and fully washed at the Kuta Wet Mill using a meticulous three-stage washing process. After sun-drying and conditioning, the coffee undergoes rigorous density, size, and color sorting, followed by hand selection to ensure exceptional quality and consistency.
Beyond flavor, Kuta’s commitment to community and sustainability is woven into every step, from composting coffee pulp and water treatment systems to ongoing investments in education and seedling distribution for local farmers.
