The Story behind the Coffee:
Grown on average around 1400 meters above sea level, this coffee boasts flavor notes of chocolate, cherry, lemon, berry, currant, and grapefruit. Fully washed and then dried in large raised beds, this coffee exhibits many of the classic bright and fruity characteristics of Kenyan coffees.
The Kikuyu, together with other local tribes, have been cultivating this unique coffee, grown in volcanic loam, for years with focus on top quality and sustainability. The Othaya Kikuyu Tribe Farmer Co-Op Society manages the Gura Factory, which processes coffee from members who generally cultivate around 250 coffee trees on half-acre plots.
