The Story Behind the Coffee:
Located on the slopes of the Acatenango Volcano, our farm fields range from 1,9000 meters above sea level to 2,100 meters above sea level where the most delicate and exotic varieties are planted. La Hermosa has a volcanic soil rich in minerals, a rainfall of 1,000 mm and a temperature of 21ºC, which translates into one of the best microclimates in the world to produce specialty coffees.
Max Pérez won ninth place in the 2020 Cup of Excellence with this same lot, alongside another coffee winning second place. These awards have been a significant achievement for Max and Finca La Hermosa. It signifies their success in being able to raise up an abandoned farm and get to the level where they’re now producing this level of coffee within ten years time due to their hard work, character and vision.
