The Story behind the Coffee:
The coffee of the Tarrazú region is one of the most famous in Costa Rica and the world, accounting for 40% of the national production. Florfina is a premium mark with flavor notes of sweet milk chocolate, butterscotch, plum, and blackberry. In the central and northern highlands where this specialty coffee is found, coffee grows up to 1600 meters above sea level with ideal climate and soil conditions for cultivation.
With over 60 years experience, this cooperative joins the efforts of almost 5000 farmers to work exclusively according to basic principles, honor and sustainability. By maintaining strict quality controls, and working with traceability they are able to see out the whole process from the planting of the seedlings to the export of the green bean. The quality standards are regularly reviewed and each farmer receives full support from the community.
