A Coffee Rooted in Community
This micro-lot comes from CoopeTarrazú, a cooperative of more than 3,500 farmers and families in Costa Rica’s San José province. The co-op is known for its dedication to sustainability and community impact, offering hands-on support to its members while investing in long-term solutions to challenges like coffee rust.
Grown in the Heart of Tarrazú
Tarrazú is one of Costa Rica’s most iconic coffee-growing regions, producing about a quarter of the nation’s coffee. Farms here sit at elevations of 1,450–1,500 meters above sea level, with a harvest season that aligns with the region’s dry months of November through March. These conditions allow for meticulous sun-drying, which highlights the coffee’s sweetness and vibrant complexity.
The Honey Process Advantage
This lot is yellow honey processed—a method where part of the coffee cherry’s sticky fruit (or “mucilage”) remains on the bean while drying. The result? A cup that balances clarity with sweetness, delivering a buttery apple pie flavor, delicate honeysuckle florals, and a bright cranberry finish.
