A Taste of History and Heritage

High in the green mountains of Belén de Umbría, this coffee has a rich history. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The region is known for its excellent coffee, a tradition that goes back to the 1700s.

Carol Zuletas coffee isn't commonplace; it's a journey back in time, steeped in centuries of coffee farming tradition.

Family-Grown, Expertly Crafted We believe the best coffee comes from hands that care deeply about quality and community. That's why we're proud to partner with Finca Samaria, a family-owned farm in Belén de Umbría. This coffee is named after Carol, the skilled fermentation manager. She carefully oversees every batch. It shows her creative double-fermentation method called the "yellow-honey process."

Honey Process, Minus the Bees No bees here—just beans with personality. This unique method involves carefully removing the seeds outer skin while leaving its sticky, honey-like mucilage intact. Air-drying and fermentation change these beans. This process brings out their natural sweetness. The result is a smooth, chocolatey cup with hints of flowers and citrus.

What to Expect in Your Cup of Carol Zuletas coffee? You will find hints of dark brown sugar and a sweet taste like honey. There is no actual honey; it's just coffee magic. You'll be rewarded with brighter citrus notes and rich chocolate undertones.

There's no wrong way to enjoy this coffee, but if you ask us, a pour-over is the perfect introduction. You’ll likely capture all the nuances of floral and sweetness we’ve loved in this coffee.

Carol's dedication and heart resonate with us. Her passion and skill show us that great coffee is not just about flavor. It is also about people, connections, and community.

Experience this coffee from Carol Zuleta and grab a bag from Lost Coffee—just don't wait too long. This special micro-batch doesn't stick around!
